The Creative Recycling Caravan, a project carried out by OSCAR Downstream and the PlaYouth Association, was awarded again, this time with the GOLD distinction in the Reduce Reuse Recycle category in the Community Index 2024 ranking, which highlights good practices and strategic projects through which companies invest in communities, through an evaluation at the most important international standards.
The Creative Recycling Caravan, a project carried out by OSCAR Downstream and the PlaYouth Association, was awarded again, this time with the GOLD distinction in the Reduce Reuse Recycle category in the Community Index 2024 ranking, which highlights good practices and strategic projects through which companies invest in communities, through an evaluation at the most important international standards.
The Community Index 2024 edition covered the period January 2023 – May 2024 and started from a base of over 850 projects or programs. Even more, the awarding of the GOLD distinction for the Creative Recycling Caravan project is a recognition of this project-phenomenon that transforms the Romanian school at national level.
Luiza Dumitru, Communication & Marketing Director OSCAR Downstream, adds: "When you get 100% involved in such a beautiful project, sometimes you forget to see the forest of trees. You lose the big picture. I think I didn't really realize how much I had achieved in only two editions since the launch of the Caravan, until I completed the application for the Community Index. This benchmarking tool is extremely complex and in-depth, generating a set of best practices and case studies that raise the level of sustainability expectations in Romania. The Community Index 2024 distinction joins an impressive track record of validations from the community for sustainable development in Romania. This year, the Sustainable Recycling Caravan received the Second Prize in the Environment category at the Romanian CSR Awards – Sustainable Companies Gala, the Sustainable Business Hero Award at the Biz Sustainability Awards 2024 Gala and the Award for the Targets Achieved within the Quality Education Sustainable Development Goal at the Sustainable Romania Gala.
