OSCAR Downstream, the largest independent fuel distribution company in Romania, contributed at the end of September to the renovation of the Sextil Pușcariu high school in Bran, Brasov county, continuing its tradition of civic involvement in Romanian communities.
In a desire to contribute to the harmonious development of future generations, OSCAR employees, led by the management team, have renovated both the interior and exterior of the high school.
They divided themselves into work teams based on their inclinations towards particular types of activities. The 4-day project encompassed a wide range of activities, including the complete renovation of 9 classrooms, the replacement of damaged furniture, the decoration of the interior space, the refurbishment of the outdoor courtyard, and the replacement and refurbishment of outdoor furniture and recreational elements. All of this was achieved with the support of a team of specialists specially chosen to ensure that the result would be delightful for OSCAR employees and children alike.

Located 25 kilometers from Brasov, Sextil Pușcariu High School is the only high school in the area within a 30-kilometer radius. It educates approximately 500 students from Bran and neighboring communes such as Moeciu and Fundata across five educational levels: preschool, primary, secondary, technological high school, and vocational school. Situated in an area of high tourist interest, near the Bucegi National Park and Piatra Craiului National Park, the high school not only offers specialized education in response to the local demand for skilled labor but also demonstrates a commitment to ecology and a green future. This commitment is evident in various school activities, including participation in greening initiatives in collaboration with local authorities and recycling campaigns, among others.
The renovation project, supported financially by OSCAR Downstream and carried out through the volunteer efforts of its team, has brought inspiration and comfort to the students who study here.
